Privacy policy
Which data Marpat bv processes, for what purpose, how long we keep it and what rights you have. This is a translation; in case of discrepancy, the Dutch version prevails.

1. Who processes your data

Marpat bv is not required to appoint a data protection officer and has not appointed one.
2. Who this policy applies to
Marpat bv works exclusively for businesses. The data we process is therefore largely business contact data of people who work for a customer, supplier or prospect. That data is also covered by data protection legislation, and this policy applies to it in full.
3. What data we process, for what purpose and on what legal basis

We do not process any data that the law classifies as sensitive, and we do not take decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
4. How long we keep it

5. Who we share data with
We only share data where this is necessary to carry out our assignment or where the law requires it. Specifically, this concerns:
- our accountancy firm, for invoicing;
- our courier and transport services, for collecting and delivering units;
- the provider that hosts our website, webshop and email;
- suppliers of parts, where an order has to be placed directly with them;
- public authorities, where we are legally obliged to do so.
We do not sell your data and do not make it available for third-party advertising.
If one of our service providers operates outside the European Economic Area, the transfer takes place on the basis of the standard contractual clauses for data protection adopted by the European Commission.
6. Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:
- access to the files is restricted to those who need it;
- we make regular backups of our file database;
- units and storage media are kept in a locked workshop;
- the website and the webshop use an encrypted connection.
7. Your rights
You have the right to:
- access your data;
- have inaccurate data rectified;
- have data erased when we no longer need it;
- have the processing restricted;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest;
- receive your data in a commonly used, readable format;
- withdraw your consent where we rely on it, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
An email to info@marpat.be is sufficient. We reply within one month. If your request is complex, we may extend that period by two months; in that case we will let you know within the first month.
We do not ask for a copy of your identity document. If we cannot establish with certainty that you are who you say you are, we will ask specific questions about the file to which your request relates.
8. Right to lodge a complaint
If you are not satisfied with the way we handle your data, please let us know first — we will look for a solution. You can also lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority at any time:
